Start with what matters to you
Before preparing a business for sale, the first question is what you want the change to make possible. A complete exit, a transition period or the sale of a particular operation will call for different preparations. Albert works directly with business owners to clarify that starting point.
Make the scope clear
The business, its assets, its premises and its lease are connected, but they are not interchangeable. An initial discussion can identify what you intend to sell, what you intend to retain and where further accounting or legal advice will be needed.
Separate the business from the premises
Method example, not a client case. If a business operates in leased premises, start with a simple map: what is included in the proposed sale, what the lease says about transfer, and what needs to be ready at handover.
Prepare for a useful conversation
Start with the type of business, its general location, your preferred timing and whether the premises are leased or owned. Do not send financial statements, employee information or other confidential records through a general website enquiry. A suitable process for sensitive information should be agreed first.
